The function of a four-way reversing valve: A four-way reversing valve is a control valve with four interfaces that can change the flow path of refrigerant. In air conditioning or heat pump systems, four-way directional valves can switch between cooling and heating modes by energizing or de energizing electromagnetic coils.

Change in refrigerant flow direction: In heating mode, the four-way reversing valve allows the high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant to enter the indoor heat exchanger (acting as a condenser) first, release heat, and then enter the outdoor heat exchanger (acting as an evaporator). In defrost mode, the four-way reversing valve will switch the flow direction of the refrigerant, allowing the high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant to enter the indoor and outdoor heat exchanger (now acting as a condenser), releasing heat to melt the frost layer.

Defrosting process: When the system detects a frost layer on the surface of the outdoor heat exchanger, the four-way reversing valve will switch to defrosting mode. At this point, the high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant enters the outdoor heat exchanger, releasing heat and melting the frost layer. As the frost layer melts, the frost layer on the surface of the air cooler will gradually fall off, restoring normal air flow and heat transfer efficiency.

Restore heating mode: When the frost layer is completely melted, the four-way reversing valve will switch back to heating mode, restoring normal heating function.
