Types of refrigeration compressors
The refrigeration compressor is the core component of the refrigeration system. According to different working principles and application scenarios, there are mainly the following types of refrigeration compressors:
1. Piston compressor
Piston compressor is the most commonly used type of positive displacement compressor, which completes the compression and transportation process of gas through variable working volume. Screw compressors have become one of the main models in the refrigeration industry.
3. Vortex compressor
Vortex compressor is a type of rotary compressor, mainly used in household and small capacity commercial air conditioning units. Vortex compressors have been widely used in the refrigeration industry due to their simple structure, high efficiency, and low noise.
4. Centrifugal compressor
Centrifugal compressor is a type of speed compressor that continuously converts angular momentum into vapor through rotating components, and then converts this momentum into pressure to increase vapor pressure and achieve the purpose of compressing gas. Centrifugal compressors are widely used, with mature manufacturing technology, simple structure, low cost, strong adaptability, and can adapt to a wide pressure range and refrigeration capacity requirements.
5. Reciprocating compressor
A reciprocating compressor is also a type of positive displacement compressor, which works on the moving mechanism to reduce the compression space volume and increase the vapor pressure to complete the compression function. Reciprocating compressors are widely used in small and medium-sized commercial refrigeration systems.
6. Open, semi closed, and fully closed compressors
According to the structure of the compressor, refrigeration compressors can also be divided into open type, semi closed type, and fully closed type. Fully enclosed compressors have the advantages of compact structure, good sealing, low noise, and smooth operation, and are increasingly being used in various fields of refrigeration and air conditioning.
